How It All Started

It all started with a dog called Buster, he was a gentle and kind dog, who sadly had a very bad experience with his first owner. With Buster being such a big hearted guy, we soon gave homes to many waifs and strays, some being re-homed to other people and others staying with us.

Buster used to let the birds walk all over him and climb up on his head. He was very tolerant of the dogs that passed through our care, and would a lot of the time supervise them. He was a one in a million dog, who sadly joined Rainbow Bridge a while ago.

The Rescue

We are a private rescue who do not get concessions of any kind. We pay for all the vet bills and feed and items, though we do get donations when people place an animal for us.
I have both taken birds from the R.S.P.C.A. I have also given dogs from other rescue centres homes. We have also been recognised by Four Paws rescue with a donation from them towards the vet fund.

We also offer a boarding service for Birds, and small rodents. We find that there are very few places that offer this service and it is difficult for some people to go on holiday because of this.
We charge a minimal amount, and mainly request that the feeds etc are supplied to reduce the stress of a new environment. Any donations are gratfully accepted.

WE ARE AIMING TO INCREASE DONATIONS TO ENABLE US TO APPLY FOR NON-PROFIT CHARITY STATUS, BUT SADLY AS YET WE DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH FUNDS COMING IN TO BE ABLE TO DO THIS. WE ARE RUNNING AT A PERMANENT LOSS, AND ARE FINDING IT HARD TO BE ABLE TO ACCEPT SOME CASES DUE TO THE FUNDING THEY NEED FOR ILLNESSES, AND SOME LONG TERM MEDICAL PROBLEMS

Needing homes

A Large German Shepherd, needs to go to a very experienced home, no young children, or other animals.(FOUND A HOME)
A 2 year old Lurcher male dog needs a loving and caring home, preferably one on one. Adorable and very good looking, check the photo page for a picture.(FOUND A HOME)
A 6 year old Male Lurcher is in need of a working home.(FOUND A HOME)
Doberman Bitch, 1 year old, loving and kind (FOUND A HOME)
Chihuahua x Bitch, 6 months old, owner working all day (FOUND A HOME)
SPRITZ, a Chinese crested,pappion x, male 4 months old (FOUND A HOME)
BERT & ENZO tabby kittens, mother killed whilst nursing, have been reared here, need a home (HOME FOUND)
GRACE, pure white kitten, needs caring home (HAS FOUND SPONSOR)

SNOOPY, A spaniel collie cross, desperatly needs a permanent home with an experienced and understanding owner. He has been a past resident, but has come up for re-adoption through no fault of his own. He is currently in foster care and is very upset, he is 6 years old. FOUND A HOME
3 Bengal cats need a home. 2 females 1 male. Possible home found
Eva, small terrier bitch, 2 years old, very cute and loyal. FOUND A HOME
October 2002
SPOT, a 1 year old male Terrier, very cute, larger than average, semi-coars haired. Found a home, is now called Scamp!

January 7th 2004

We have homed so many in the last 12 months, incredible, thanks to all those that have adopted.

We have 6 Rabbits that need homes, 1 black male lop, 1 male & 1 female Himalians, and a family of 3, who have been neutered so are fine to live together, and would prefer to see them living and staying as a family unit. (FOUND HOMES)

Chinchilla's 1 boy & 1 Girl (FOUND HOMES)

English liver & white Springer Spaniel, (Rosie) (FOUND A HOME)

February /March 04

permanent home required for 2 female cats, they are both Spayed, and will be one year old on the 6th of March, one is Black & White the other is Tabby/Torte (found homes)

Can you give a loving home to Cuddles, a 5 year old Collie X Spaniel.  He is all black, has been neutered is good with cats and children and is up for adoption through no fault of his own (Home found)

2 dogs who would like a home where they could stay together, one a 13 month old male German Sheppard, Tyson, and one 3 year old Labrador X Sheppard Buster. (homes found)

 

OCTOBER 04

We have 2 kittens, a little boy & girl who need to stay together, need to be away from busy roads and a fairly dedicated cat loving family

1 male cat aged 2 (apprx) he is of oriental decent, is very very vocal but needs to be the only cat as he has Feline Lukeamia (or a home that already has cats that are carriers.

6 year old collie mix, very frindly (no young kids please)

9 year old Collie mix, very frindly, needs a loving and understanding home with no young children

A family of 3 female Chinchillas, (pinks & Grey)

2 Male chinchillas (pinks)

A very unusual bunch, 13 assorted chickens/bantams and a duck (who thinks she is a chicken) needs a loving free range home with suitable accommodation

Rabbits, 3 adults, 3 babies, of assorted variety (5 of these are white as snow) need big hutches, large runs and a family/families that have a passion for cavies
